Meredith,
Carroll and Guy Thatcher are all certified instructors for the
International Facility Management Association (IFMA), headquartered
in Houston, Texas. We teach courses in Canada and internationally
for IFMA, including Fundamentals of Facility Management, The
Business of FM, Managing Real Estate Plans, Facility Planning
and Project Management, Leading the Sustainable Revolution, Certified
Facility Manager Exam Review Course, and Emergency Preparedness.
In May 2005, Meredith delivered an IFMA Audio Seminar on Change,
Chaos, Contrasts and Compromise: The Workplace of the Future.
Guy
Thatcher developed a three-day Seaport Facility Planning and Management
course, and delivered the pilot course in 2004 to officers and
managers of ports in Trinidad, Jamaica and Guyana. He also
delivered this course in 2005 for the Caribbean Shipping Association.
For
PWGSC, we developed the Area Measure and Space Management
training materials and conducted an extensive training needs analysis.
For Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (formerly Revenue
Canada, Customs and Excise), we conducted two Department-wide
feasibility studies on end-user computer training. Produced a
training strategy and implementation plan, including specific
recommendations and cost estimates.
For
Michigan State University's Internet-based Masters Certificate
in Facility Management program {more detail},
we:

developed and delivered the course Facility Management: Theory
and Principles,

and delivered the course, Information Management for Facility
Professionals,
- acted
as Teaching Assistants for two courses, Facility Management:
Theory and Principles and Real Estate and Finance.
For
the IFMA Ottawa chapter, Carroll developed and delivered
an on-line course, Working in Virtual Teams for Facility Managers,
to students in Canada and the United States. Jean Grant assisted
with the development of this course, including writing the module
The Dynamics of Virtual Teams.
CTPG
assisted in the development of Serviceability Tools and Methods
and in delivering Serviceability training, including training
the PWGSC team in the data collection process and methodology.
For
federal departments, institutions and private sector firms, provided
CAD and CAFM training for management and operators, including
best practices, standards, and methodologies in developing their
CAD/CAFM system.
Meredith
Thatcher has been Director of Education for the Ottawa Chapter
of IFMA since 1998 and a member of the award-winning Education
Committee since 1994.
We
prepared major data centre training plans for Revenue Canada
- Customs and Excise and for Supply and Services Canada.
The plans provided for the retraining of systems planning, development
and operations staff in new hardware and software.
